I'm looking for joypads for my MSX.
I've been checking Ebay lately, but didn't seen them in a while.
Does someone has one left over ? or maybe 2 of the same ? Maybe we can come to an angreement !

I have recently bought a sega rhino pad. I've converted this one so it works as a 2 button joypad for msx. It only costs €5,99 and I can help you to make it suitable for msx.

Yes, atleast that is the best way 2 do it.
But it is really simple.
You only have to cut 3 wires an solder 2.
If you open it you'll see 9 wires. they come from the connector 9pins and they are attached to the rhinopad.
You only have to cut the red,the gray and the black one.
then you solder the red wire (from the 9pin connector (stekker)) to the gray wire (attached to the rhinopad),
and you solder the gray wire (from the 9pin connector (stekker)) to the black wire (attached to the rhinopad).
That's all.
The red wire (attached to the rhinopad) and the black wire (from the 9pin connector (stekker)) stays unused.
This gamepad works really good on my msx.
If you still have questions, you can always mail me.

I use SEGA Master System joypad on MSX. It works great and doesn't need any conversions. It also looks much better then any joypad, made specifically for MSX.

I had to order some stuff to get the job done, but just had my first hour of fun playing nemesis 3 with my brandnew Rhino-pads !
The soldering wasn't that hard to do, although it doesn't deserve a beauty-price.. (but it works!)
Thanx JGM ! |
