No Konami feeling at all. Making an MSX title screen is not as easy as using fancy already made true type fonts.

Not too sure about that, Penguin Adventure's title screen does use a font which looks familiar to me (then again, nowadays every font does).

Looking forward to each entry in MSXDev, as always!

Congrats for the entry Do a good job!

But please remember MSX is a world, and you need to make the game compatible for ANY MSX model That's one of the hardest parts to manage if you are being 25 years out of MSX...

@Ryjuzo: FYI (For your inspiration)

I always get inspired looking at these examples. There are some great techniques to be learned.
If you anlyse them carefully you can see how the Konami style is used and improved.

Very interesting links, Huey!

And... a small question... don't you think that a sequel of the Knightmare saga should be Knightmare IV? Isn't Shalom the Knightmare III?

@ MrSpock; This is what RyJuZo stated in his first post:

Not sure. I think it is more a concept than an actual game.
I found these images some time ago when I was looking around for work from Samieru (la-mulana!!!)

Some configurations I can only test with the emulator cause I dont have the hardware (turbo-r)
but I do have a msx2+,msx2 and a msx1 ..also got a MegaFlash SCC so at least on these machines it will work...

thx huey...this comes very close to wat we are doing....
the idea of the HUD on the rightside of the screen...is especially interesting...hmmm

the themes we have are for example are a haunted forest(big ugly trees coming at ya)....Garden of Eden(just plain beautiful)....Hell on Earth (hot hot hot)... and much more...(not gonna spoil everything...)

Here is another one. It's from Tokimeki Knightmare. Sadly the demo is not available for download anymore

Konami used sprites in several screen titles to include colour richness and animations. Anyway, I would say that sprites are somewhat a normal thing in MSX1 worlds, don't you think so?

What is not normal is the use of sprites to mask out color spill limits. Anyway i do not ever noticed that konami does this. Any example?

It's normal they've done it on NES too.
