Hey,

Finaly my PCB's arrived for my prototype 1Mb SIMM expansion. Cause Erikie talked about using an old SIMM Socket for easy SIMM replacement I had a bright idea to build the logics on a PCB together with the SIMM Socket.

Here is my prototype:




The 40 pin connector is a standard HDD connector, so I now only have to remove the memory from my 8250 and 2 resistors.
After that I have to solder a standard HDD 40pins cable to the mainboard of the MSX and plug it onto my PCB.

Oh, seems a neat design!. Have you already tested it? and if it works fine, could more of these PCBs be ordered?. I would love to get a pair of them

I'm planning on testing it this weekend.
If it works out I'll publish the schematics and PCB design.

The price of the PCB was $ 5,60 a piece, but had to pay $ 25,- setup costs, so it would be good to order for example 10 or 20 at a time.

Count with me to order a couple of PCBs!

Saterday i'm placing it into a fresh unmodded NMS8255 to see if it works.
If it works i'm willing to set up a sale for these PCB's

Unfortunatly my upgrade to a MSX2+ did'nt work out (yet), so as soon as that one succeeds I can do the 1Mb buildin.
As all goes well, this will be very soon

I allways wanted to go to marienberg, so let me try to fix this thingy before Saturday.
If it's build in and working, i'm sure want to go there.
