Look what I just found:click!

the cover for "The Three Dragon Story", the cartridge, and two screenshots (?) of the game! (It looks like a Knightmare hack...)

Also something really strange; is that a MSX/NES adapter?! Oops, I just used a translation engine, it's an MSX1->MSX2 adapter apparently...

I don't think It's a direct Knightmare hack. It looks quite MSX 2-like. And about the Adapter. I once read something about such a cartridge in some old MSX magazine. You could play (some) NES games with it. Was a bit "buggy" according the article.

Indeed it seems an FAMICOM/NES adapter for Zemina/MSX!!!!

If you pay close attention to the plugged cartridge, it is not an MSX cartridge but a FAMICOM one (Japanese NES). Look at the cut angles and the Konami reference for GRADIUS II: RC832. That's not an MSX title!

On the other hand, if you check the screenshots below, they all belong to NES games.

Therefore, this is the holy grail for the MSXers: a NES converter to play Super Mario Bros using cursors

Does anyone have further info regarding this hardware? I'd love to have one - as most of you, for sure -.

It is Nintendo FAMICOM(NES) adapter for MSX.
It has own video/audio output.
With this adapter, MSX works as FAMICOM joy-pad

You can find more information at Korean guy's blog.

Cool! MSX provides just the power supply and keyboard/joystick interface. Good enough for me! I need one right now!

Yes. Specially Dr. Hello, the Korean Dr. Mario clone for MSX.

You'll have to wait until Karoshi finishes its own version

So It's a complete NES/Famicom system crammed in an MSX interface. Quite handy. But I don't think it would be worthwile to make a new version of this interface because nowadays you can buy a NES for about 10 euro's or something. Want to play Mario with keyboard? Download an emulator (ofcourse you must own the original Mario game -duh- ).

But if someone would make such a thing again I would absolutely buy it ofcourse!!!!!

Really cool hardware, but I wonder what's the point (at that time) of having such an add-on. I mean, since all the nes hardware is needed in the cartridge, MSX only provides the power supply, the keyboard (and joysticks), and the TV adapter + cables. I know all this allows for a small price when compared with making a full videogame, but that really allowed for a significant small price, considering it had a small market than a nes videogame had, since it required a MSX?

Hah! Good point!

Although I couldnt make Dr.Hello sound work, I gave it a shot with the Three Dragon Story... and now there's no need to dump it anymore, I re-converted the game!

ta-daaaaa!

I still have to test it a bit more to see if there isnt any hidden bug (even those vdp corruptions )

It's a very cool game BTW

I converted it today, after reading hap's reply, no prior work involved - Sg-1000 convertions are rather easy once you have routines ready to convert input and audio stuff

Sound is *perfect*- the same I heard running the game on Meka

Now I'm looking for other Sg-1000 zemina ports... but I could only find Dr.Hello (which I don't know why it's completly mute) and Dragon Story... nothing about Cyborg Z so far

Not anymore!

I started from scratch, and figured out what was wrong with the game...

P.S.: I still want to play Karoshi's version, since the graphic looks *so* much better on their version
