English texts in Japanese games seems quite normal these days. And extracting music for sounddemos (like KSS) also seems quite easy.

Could this mean that replacing PSG music from a konami with an SCC version is easy as well? (replacing the tunes and the player)

The konami replayer isn't for music alone. It contains sound effects as well. Theoretically it would be possible indeed.

SCC uses exactly the same formula for the register data to get the same frequency. Knowing this only one bios call needs to be changed to a routine that accesses SCC in stead of PSG.

Hehe, well, in what format should that scc music be done then?

I just noticed bifi will code all of it ?

wolf and bifi are not on the same wavelength here

BiFi talks about a (simple) alteration in Konami sources which plays music on both SCC and PSG instead of PSG only.

Wolf talks about replacing original game-music with entirely different songs, made in different programs.

No, I'm talking about playing everything on SCC in stead of PSG. It would lack the noise register then though.

Dunno what wavelength you're on, snout, but placing the same message twice sounds like random noise to me

Anyway... Either concept is doable, but the effort would be better put into new projects. There's always the radio/mp3 player for adding different sounds to existing games
