Agreed! Patience often pays off with these sites. Also for auctions you can create an account and then use the "Save this search" to get digest emails of the results, which can be quite usable. This also works for Mercari shop listings through Buyee
For Y! shop listings and Rakuten ones I just re-load the browser tab from time to time. Although some of the shop listings are just "out of stock", occasionally a good available one comes up for a much more reasonable price than in the auctions. This was how I eventually found some of the MSX parts I didn't see for sale elsewhere, and for semi-reasonable prices (shipping from Buyee can still cost a lot though depending on where you are)
I took a look at buyee, it should work with auctions or buy now like in ebay. I think it will be necessary to register on the site. do you have experience on shipping costs from Japan? they are expensive?
