No, but I would expect C2 RAM to work better in all cases where a standard mapper is used...
Well: it works with normal Memory Mapper! How can that be??

Yeas, the Carnivore 2 should be more reliable than the Memory Mapper, that patches the ROM and does on-the-fly disk loading...
Ah wait, it could be that this ROM wants some writable memory in the cartridge in order to save things (so that would work with Memory Mapper but not with "real" mappers) ?
It's working here on MegaFlashROM SCC+, but also not on Carnivore 2 ! Very weird indeed...
EDIT: Could you try flashing it with the official Carnivore 2 tool ?
Did you try that?
No, currently working on SofaRun
And in the meantime?
SofaRun 8 has been released last Sunday and is downloadable from my website. The news post is still in the MRC queue.
Taking some rest now, but I will be back on MSX next week end !
Oh, cool!
In the meantime, I tried it but in my case, after pressing space, the whole MSX hangs. I think it's correctly detected as ASCII16, so that should be OK... Let me know later what does it do for you, OK?
Okay, I think the problem is in the simulation of ASCII16 (and also ASCII8) mappers: the initial bank selection is incorrect in the current implementation, which breaks some games like this one. Already reported at RBSC...
But why specifically for this game and not others ? I'll have a look this week-end, but there's something special for this game and the Carnivore 2 (could be related to the "range" of the switch addresses that are a bit wider or shorter on the Carnivore...).
BTW, Carnivore 2 is emulated in openMSX ? Does it do the same here ?
