Slots in Metal Gear 2 box

After wanting one for years, I recently got a copy of Metal Gear 2. Behind the paper cover is a slot for what looks like 3 diskettes - though this particular box didn't include anything except cart and manual. So, what was in those slots? If they're diskettes, what was on them (since unlike Snatcher, the game is actually on the cartridge itself)?

Didn't they just use some standard box, with room for diskettes? The same as Snatcher/SD-Snatcher perhaps? (I only have MG2.)

Snatcher's cartridge is just an SCC cartridge though - floppies contain actual data. MG2 is SCC and data - so it's not like it needs floppies (unless the space is for save states).

That´s a good point: There is some space for a save disk, so they used a standart cart box. Was there any sticker included for the save disk, like in SD Snatcher?

There are two versions of the box:
1) cartridge placed to the bottom edge plus space for three disks
2) cartridge placed a little below the center without space for disks

1 is used for other games like (sd) snatcher
2 is too long ago for me to remember

Both are standard boxes. The game comes without disks.

edit: searched the net for some pictures. Can't find nr.2. Someone could post a pic if he has one. If not, you've to believe me. I've had both versions in my hands. Both original Konamis by the way.

No, but the box is old, and it may have included it originally.

I used the space to store the translated English version :)

Hi Meits!,
Despite it is a little bit old topic.. I found your post quite interesting and I´ve submitted actual Pictures of MGS2 Box (the version nr.2 quoting yourself :-) ..) to Generation MSX database, I guess Sylvester will update accordingly soon....

Different variants of internal cardboard that accommodates the cartridge are know to exist.

PS: one of the pictures is from my own MGS2 collection , the other is downloaded from the web...

I never got why the English translation of the manual says to insert the diskette into Drive A. The game was released on a ROM Cartridge.
