Not that many frames, doesn't give much of an impression of movement.
It looks pretty smooth to me.
Talking about the smoothness of depth, the darkblue and lightblue 'bars' in the road look like they're just alternating rather than moving in 3D.
I think it would show more clearly at lower speeds, so when accelerating you get a better feel for the speed and then at top speed it would kind of look like this.
It's alternating just 2 colors, it could be easily expanded to 3 colors to improve the effect.
Besides this, pretty cool demo, I didn't know MSX can do this kind of line interrupt so clearly (is it using interrupts on each line?)

@albs_br Try Konami's F1 Spirit 3D game, it does the same.
