If it is not a mapper, than I guess it's another variant of Flash RAM for savings..... So it would mean that a future digital version would have the same issues..... Or am I completely wrong?
The game does not use any save feature, so, nothing to do about it.
As stated previously, we don't have any intention of releasing a digital version at the moment, but honestly I am not sure if we even could if we wanted to, the game is very large, more than 4096KB.
This is the problem.
Oh I see, it seems msxVR makes some assumptions about the cartridge connected in order to emulate. It is not able to handle anything yo connect to it like a regular Msx. I guess they tested and made sure all the “normal” cartridges work as expected but when there is something very different it may be it doesn’t work.
@Kai Magazine: what physical ROM mapper will you use to support over 4096KB?
That doesn't exist, Manuel.
No physical ROM mapper will go over 4096KB on MSX.
I said it before, it is not a mapper issue. It is a hardware issue.
Giving any more details just makes things easier for pirates, so I will say no more.
Please check how many downvotes the public videos of Metal dragon have, in particular the Spanish version.
Some people are nuts.
I didn't take account about downvotes. They should explain their reasons for downvotes in the comments. Anyway, I consider whatever new game for V9990 + MSX sound chips as a very good news.

Oh, Kai Magazine is not kidding. Coincidentally, I have a YouTube channel as well.
My oldest, so most watched videos (usually recordings from classic game soundtracks) gathered around 10.000 - 30.000 views in the last 10 years since I started uploading stuff. Which is not much in the "greater plan".
(I should have dedicated my channel to playing other people's work and screaming like a bitch over it - that can apparently make you a millionaire)
The maximum of dislikes any of those gathered, was the Xak soundtrack, but I think that's mainly because of disappointed Russians.
I base this upon the fact that YT content creators (like yours truly), once upon a time, could see what country the 'disliker' hailed from. Probably "Xak" means something else in Russian, and they were disappointed that it's not the Russian hip-hop group (or something?) they were looking for.
(not withstanding that you're still a loser for disliking a video just because of that - when I search for "wet pussies", I get pictures of soaked cats, which wasn't exactly the content I was after, but that's still no reason to disrespect the uploader, unless you're an idiot)
So, with this in mind, for a small channel such as mine, to gather that many (which is not much at all) dislikes over the years -
Within a day when I posted two songs for Metal Dragon:
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=mugYe5yC-FM
Presto! Four dislikes.
So it seems that some people are just googling day in, day out until a result with "Kai Magazine" comes up so they can hate upon it. :D
("get a life" evolves from being just an expression to becoming a heart-felt advice here, for those people)
As a wise philosopher once said - They see me rollin' - they hatin'
But basically, we should take an example from this boi:

@Manuel: you can probably imagine a system of switchable ROMS to go over the 4096kB limit.
Security by obscurity.... Well, I suppose at some point in time someone will find out the secrets and publish them somewhere, that always happens.
And indeed, I wouldn't mind downvotes too much. There are many idiots out there. Just like people who pirate new MSX software.
Anyways, if you ever want to reveal the mapper system you use in that cartridge, so the game can be emulated, do let me know. I won't implement the mapper (e.g. if it gets reverse engineered before that) without your consent.
SW1 is always connected to SW2 in MSX cartridges. So it's possible to make a detection based on this connection. Select the MSX mode if SW1 and SW2 are connected otherwise the MSXVR mode with a direct addressing over 24 bits.
No physical ROM mapper will go over 4096KB on MSX.
It is possible to do. Besides, Supersoniqs did.
