Hi guys,

I have built this Eprom Cart for MSX based on project files here : Eprom Cartridge rev 1.5
I burned a 27C256 with the MSXDiag (I would like also to use this cart with the RamTest) but when I pop this into the cartridge slot of my HX-10 all I get is a black screen and a humming noise. oO
My question is fairly simple : does anyone had a chance to built this cart and make it working? There is no documentation over the net on how to use it and especially how to set the jumpers on top.
I have watched a video with this cart working on an MSX with all jumpers left opened.
Any help would be appreciated :D

Weird there is no documentation. For the 32kB ROM you will need CS12 and most likely A14 jumpers selected. The other ones I can’t be sure (probably they say 27plus and 27mimus or ground? (the image is a bit blurry). As you have 256 you will probably need these as opposed to the 1M versions…

I agree with Peter - you need to set 2 jumpers: CS_12 and P27A14.

The design of this cartridge is pretty chaotic and moreover - potentially dangerous. If all jumpers would have been connected as they should have been by the author's design, then setting 2 jumpers marked as "plus" and "minus" at the same time would have caused a short circuit between power 5V supply and ground.

I have jumpered CS12 and P27A14 but still the same. The MSX won't boot. Crying

I think the electrolytic cap value I am using is wrong. It should be 100uF instead of 47uF so maybe this is the reason why it won't boot.

This has nothing to do with capacitors. Try to burn a 32kb game ROM (for example Goonies) into the EPROM and see if the game starts. MSXDIAG does a lot of checking before it actually shows anything on the screen, so there may be something that stalls it...

I have tried to burn Goonies and tested again with no luck and same issue.
This cart PCB looks to be an absolute trash and I will not spend more time on troubleshooting it. I have picked a working PCB cart from the 8BitManshed on Etsy and will be good to go with that one (hopefully). Question

I am following the guy on his Youtube channel and he does great stuff with arcade PCB repairs and other restorations :-).
