Would the Carnivore 2 (which i ordered) with the audio jack solve the problem if i let all music go through that audio jack?
I understand it won't use the Carnivore when i insert an original scc rom but 99,9% of the games are not on an original rom :)

PSG sound from the MSX does not pass through this output.
Hmmm ok, from the website i understood it does:

Extra PPI clicker and PSG emulation (at the normal I/O ports, to have PSG output on the mini jack)
Edit: asked this question to 8bit and they confirmed it does pass through, guess we will wait and see :-)

It is not passing though, the interface is snooping the MSX bus for PSG and PPI traffic and emulating both inside it, so it can emulate the sound of those chips and mix with its own (so the end result might look like it is getting the audio from the MSX when in fact it is getting the commands sent to the audio chips and emulating the chips inside).
Of course, the end result for you is what matters, so if you can configure it to do it, you will get the PSG output on the cartridge sound output, and not need to rely on your MSX mixing the cartridge sound output with its own PSG / PPI output.
Originally, the sole purpose of the PSG in the Carnivore 2 was to work around this issue... and with the latest firmware you can also set it up as 2nd PSG for some ROM hacks that use that.
