Is it an unmodified Sega gamepad with a 9-pin connector?
I could add support if I can emulate it or if I can get one.

Modified with inverter. I don't think it will ever work on MSX, from my bad memory it is the wrong pin connection and It needs the inverter to set the default reading of the controller otherwise it won't work on normal games. Would be a great option because if you modify it you will need a tester :-)
