1) Galaga with stars background removed (just change &h018D address byte from &H20 to 0). This game works natively with color 0 Smile ;

2) A panasonic FS-UV1 video telopper ;

3) A DVD player running Nasa's Earth time lapse from ISS ;

Very nice Smile

With a little knowledge, you must do this with R-Type:
1) We need to create the template => http://youtu.be/S20G-pwZdLE
2) Modify the program cartridge to enable SET VIDEO 2,0,0 in game.
In theory you should get something like this: => http://youtu.be/Jzo5gMVjXyw

To put decorations as background with galaga, we must "be" as black or transparent. with this solution, it is not necessary to synchronize the sets which is much easier.

There are a few months, I tried without modification Manbow 2 and this is what we get:

This is exactly what I want to do but with my video background Smile
Smile would be best to get to do the same thing with a HBG900 by managing the DVD with RS232 interface , it would be fun Cool
And it is feasible because these remote controlled drives exist

An old idea of mine was:
since not all the DVDs have got a RS232 port, let's make a cartridge or a device (connected to the printer port) for MSX, that is a universal remote control: so you can control your DVD player!
A simple bios and few new MSX-Basic call commans will manage play, pause, forward, backward, etc.
I don't think it will cost too much to do a such thing.
