Perhaps I missed it, but where is the portable open source tsx to wav converter tool?
(I don't mean one which is included in openMSX in an openMSX fork.)

Hello Manuel, you keep diverting and going around the main subject.
The subject aren't the tools using the TSX format, or whether they are opensource or not.
The subject is to support a format increasingly accepted by the community and preservation groups by openmsx, the reference emulator for many MSX people.

And I say that your argument is not the main subject because openmsx incorporates many extensions that are not open source at all ... and there they are.

It is a problem of will, of will to do it (or not).

Anyway, as we said in a past post, there are public TZX2WAV sources (although without 4B support) and in the next few days there will be a PHP opensource converter for the Linux people that don't like wine Wink

What will be the next issue, Manuel?

Yes, you really missed it

TZX2WAV sourcecode seems available...

With TZX2WAV you can convert tsx to wav. It's magic.

And... in the near future...

But don't worry, in 2 days I will add there a new wav.php class to do it. So all will be right ;)

Wow, thanks! Looking forward to it. Will there be a program to convert TSX to wav or do we have to put one together ourselves?

wav.php
...and...
tsx2wav.php

Not problem Smile

But this is not a replacement for an hypothetical TSX support from openMSX team.
TSX support can give much more added value to the emulator execution as a simple WAV.

Thanks, I didn't have openMSX in mind, but real MSX. Phone apps are of no value to me. But a wav converter lets me feed the MSX cassette line with my PC.

Have you considered buying a TZXDuino? They have TSX support and they have full Motor Control as well.

Yep, you have several options even to put on cartridge slot and take the power from there.
I don't have space for both pc and MSX in the same table

TZXDuino sounds very Spectrum. Better a TSXDuino that you can insert in your MSX slot Big smile Big smile Big smile

It's the same thing except one is powered by the cart slot, the other is powered by a usb cable or DC adapter. both load via the cassette port.

TZXDuino was originally for Spectrum as was the TZX format that the TSX file format has been added too.
