Hello guys,

I made a program to connect a MSX to a MSX ROM DATABASE online with the GR8NET.

The program is downlaodable from here : http://www.ebsoft.fr/msx/gr8net/rombase.bas
Only 3KB

Save it as autoexec on a device or launch it from the GR8NET Basic with these command

a$="http://www.ebsoft.fr/msx/gr8net/rombase.bas":run"httpa:a$"

The program connect to an online Database on my website.
Enter a word on the keyboard of the ROM you are looking for... For example enter "Penguin" or "Killer" or "road" or any other sentence to search for a specific rom.
The program will search in a more than 900 roms database and show you the result on screen.
Enter the number of the rom you want to launch, wait less than 10 secondes and play it !

Here a video to show you how it is simple to use :

PS What you need is a MSX2 with a GR8NET cartridge

It's really powerful to be able to run stuff directly from a remote website!
What you're basically doing is better than HTML: you host a runnable program that gives access to other parts of your own site...! Wow! BASIC may be the best client side scripting language for MSX ;-)
(Be careful for security, the remote program may do weird stuff, that's all at your own risk ;-))

If someone searches for a " " (space), will it find everything on your server?
Can't check it myself, but if that works, and you might not want that kind of activity, there's a "bug report" Smile

But man... Who would have expected this to happen thirty years ago... Great stuff Smile

@Manuel and @Meits
The Remote program is connected to a MySQL database. There is no risk for other files of the website.
If you do not enter a search-word the program will list all avalaible ROMS, nothing more Wink
