For sale: Yamaha MSX2 YIS503IIIR + optional hardware upgrade

I am selling my Yamaha MSX2 YIS503IIIR to the highest bidder. The computer is in good working condition but has 2 minor cosmetic defects on the top and on the side (see pictures below). The computer has NO DISK DRIVE! These computers were only available in USSR, so this one is quite rare. The original computer has the following configuration:

- Yamaha 9938 VDP
- MSX2 BIOS and Basic 2.1
- 128kb of RAM with mapper
- 128kb of VRAM
- Network module (compatible with the same module type only!)
- Color RGB and black and white composite video outputs

I can do the following hardware upgrades on request:

- Internal 1mb or RAM with mapper: +25 euro
- Internal FMPAC module (without SRAM, MSX2+ upgrade ready): +25 euro
- New video board with S-Video, improved composite video and RGB: + 35 euro

Starting price: 199 euros. Shipment is not included and is paid separately by the buyer. Consider paying at least 20-25 euros for the insured shipment within EU. I accept Paypal and SEPA transfer.

The upgrade does not make this machine MSX2+! It only makes it MSX2+ ready as the FMPAC board has F4 port installed on it. To complete the upgrade to MSX2+ you need to install 9958 VDP, solder a few wires and change 2 BIOS chips.

With just FM-pac module ,I can use Fm sounds , but without
the FM basic ?

I am not sure. I think FM BASIC works, but need to test this. Do you have any files that I can load and check?

Alright . I would offer the starting price of 249 for a computer expanded with the internal 1 mb memory mapper and internal FM-PAC module.

The good thing about this upgrade is that you can return everything to its original state. The original 128kb RAM module will be included. And Z80 can be installed into a socket that was used by FMPAC.

Just finished installing 1mb of RAM and FMPAC into the machine.

Btw, all Russian Yamahas have color RGB and monochrome composite video outputs. You can use RGB-SCART cable for TV/monitor or RGB cable for RGB monitor to get a proper color picture. But if you plan to use composite video, you will get a black and white image only.
