Missing IMHO:
- Venom Strikes Back
- International Karate
- Feud
And a search option to quickly find your fav game
HAH,file-hunter.com is BACK! Feels like the old days!
Your wish is my command. The games have been added. I'll have a look at a search function in the future
Those are interesting numbers, as always.
Why would Aleste be more popular than Aleste 2? I suspect it's because of the Sega 8-bit Power Strike version.

My guess it's simply because it's the first game in the list ;-)

Haha, really? You could be right. That would be a quite funny reason, actually.
It's also the reason why '666 The Haunted House' was/is always high in the MRC Downloads ranking......
I must admit that I have downloaded "666 The Haunted House" because, well, there was 666 in the title? And I really liked Eurosoft's Haunted House. The game itself turned out to be... different.
People tend to be lazy (with me being a prime example) and just like clicking something a.s.a.p. instead of searching & looking around a bit.

@John: would you actually expect Aleste 2 to have a higher rating? Speaking for myself: I'm actually not sure which one I like better
Aleste (1) to me is the classic (with Aleste 2 of course being a very worthy successor).
Aleste (1) has the better boss-is-finished-let's-move-to-the-next-stage sequence
Both have their own fine tunes/soundtrack.. Though I guess I like Aleste's better / sits more deeply here. Your Aleste 2 soundtrack has (significantly) more views though
And of course the FM drums are different between the two. I checked in hoot: Aleste seem to (only) use RHY-SD to generate it's (non-standard) SD & HH sounds, Aleste 2 seems to use the FM drums in the standard way. I thought those FM drums were standard/preset / not much you can do with them, but apparently you can tweak 'em like Aleste seems to do?
Also funny to see the number of people who try to copy the site with help of a program or script and end up with the html/png/gif & jpg's, but without the rom & emulator files (while you can download the whole site from our frontpage).
Even right now someone with a Ziggo connection tried to use a nice wget script trying to get hold of the site. He/She is even trying to "guess" the Eggbert game filename, while you can simple download the file from our FONY page...

Watch out, @tfh is watching you..
Man, I'm such a n00b (sometimes) , guess I should have realized already (hello lot of FM tunes
), to answer my own question: yes drums can be tweaked (e.g. in MoonBlaster: frequency & octave). Actually, funny/coincidental thing you (@John) just made a reference to this fact in the Herzog patch thread :)
