Do you have clean the contacts with alcohol ?
Please send me an email . To tmtlogic(@) gmail(dot) com
I have cleaned the contacts, but that didn't change anything.
However! Rinus 'Totally Chaos' Stoker offered to send me a DFU cable with which I could update the firmware. Apparently that cable should have come with the device already in the first place. Never got that cable, though and I didn't buy the SE-ONE second handed or something. Anyway, today I received this cable and I immediately used it to update my SE-ONE. There are 3 DFU files in the repository, one of them is probably dated 2018 and the other 2 look like they're from 2019. They are named SEONE06042019.DFU and SEONE20190709.DFU. I assume SEONE20190709.DFU dates from september 7 2019? The other dates from april 6 2019?
I used SEONE20190709.DFU and it revived my SE ONE!!!!
I am happy and want to thank you all for your help. But especially Rinus Stoker who was so kind to send me this cable so I could update.
The update software somehow looked familiar to me. Could it be, somewhere in the past I have already tried to update the device using a standard USB cable, just because I thought it would fit? And that somehow, because of the wrong cable, wrong data was written into the SE-ONE. And that ultimately led to faulty behaviour?
@Robby: Sorry didn’t see, won’t happen again
Latok, great that it works. The SE-ONE is a great device. In the manual I found this information regarding to the USB cable:
CAUTION !!
Use the “DFU cable” only for updating the SE-ONE. Not for anything else. This can cause serious damage.
So it’s probably an adapted cable just for updating the SE-ONE, maybe thats why a regular USB cable won’t work.
Yes, I agree, a great device! The only thing that reaaaaally annoys me though is the booting sequence. This voice constantly shouts: 'You can plaaaaaay digital muuuuuuusic on your MSX Computer. For updates, TMTLOGIC.COM blablablabla....'
Please, can I somehow disable it?
Good that it is solved! Did you try my Radio App for the SE-ONE?
Edoz, I use your radio app in SymbOS and works nice! But one thing is that I can only receive a few radio channels very well. One of them is q-music and some local radio pirates. I don’t like those
Do you know a way to receive better with the fm radio on SE-ONE?
This is because of interference of the MSX and probably a choice based on quality/price of the radio chip. I think it was just a nice addition to the mp3 card but you cannot expected a high quality radio chip for the money, in that regards the DAB version is much better. But even for this one a external antenna is highly recommended.
Only thing which i can advise is to try different machine, in my case the turbo-r has much better signal compare to my philips machines... or try to extend the antenna with a long wire...
My se-one has a huuuuge antenna
Well that makes sense Edoz. I only have Philips machines and there would sure be a lot of interference with these old computers. But I mainly use it for mp3 anyway. Maybe I’ll try to extend the antenna some day but I’m sure that won’t look pretty with all these cables already in and out my MSX.
To get back on Latok his question; is it possible to turn off the intro tune? I didn’t find anything about that in the manual if I’m correct. I can see why someone would like to turn that off. I like it though, but it could be annoying if you have to reset or turn on/off your MSX frequently for what ever reason...

Some unfinished business here. Let me answer my own question. In order to turn off the intro tune, you have to use an AT command. To be able to use AT commands for the SE-ONE you have to boot AT.BAS Then the syntax is AT+SETUNE=ON<13> to activate the start-up tune and AT+SETUNE=OFF<13> to disable the start-up tune.
