Hi! I'm new to the forum but (very) old to MSX computers. I've made a web game heavily inspired by Frogger and Road Fighter, you can check it out here. Also, for the game programmers interested in releasing web games, please check this open-source library. Enjoy!

This is great fun diogoeichert! I love the sequence when the chicken dies. Smile

Thanks, hamlet! Some people told me the game is too hard, so there's even a not-so-secret code to start the game with additional lives. Wink

Nice/funny Smile

Shouldn't you also tell about your other MSX inspired game? Smile (Which I find quite funny & reminded my of /news/en/sinterklaas-remakes-nemesis-2-and-maze-galious (2020 pc warning there ;)))

(For those interested, check https://diogoeichert.github.io/)

And perhaps you took a bit of inspiration from MoG for Alpha?

I like your choice of music in your games :)

btw, would be kinda fun I think, the game would become a true homage then, if you'd use cars from various MSX games, and e.g. the truck from Payload etc. But you would be using copyrighted material o/c...

Do we have a famous MSX chicken?

Thanks for bringing that up, ren! The reason I only mentioned Cityscape is because it uses the same resolution as the MSX, but you're right, most of my games have been somehow inspired by MSX games.

I like to think of Alpha more like an inspiration from The Castle, though. Powerless protagonist who can basically jump around, collecting keys and maybe eventually dropping a block in the head of a foe.

I actually have in my personal files a remake of Nemesis in which you can randomly pick any of the ships from Nemesis / Nemesis 2 / Salamander / Nemesis 3 and then play the original stage 1 level from Nemesis. My intention was to make a full lengthy game in which it would be possible to play all levels from all games in sequence (with the ability to save progress) and also have the full range of upgrades offered by Nemesis 2 / Salamander / Nemesis 3, but ripping levels out of the original games was a humungous task for a single-person project and I was also skeptical about the reception and the possible copyright issues that I could be diving into. I've made a few screenshots for you anyways: https://imgur.com/a/5rdF12O
