Climb huge towering buildings with caution in this vertical scrolling arcade by game studio SoCal (Vincent, Sylvian, Cedric).

Try to reach the top of the enormous building and escape jail time. Hope you’re not afraid of heights!

Contestants have until the end of August to submit their entries. If you are enjoying this MSXdev game, why not consider donating to the prize money. 100% of the donations will go to the game developers.

The MSXdev21 contest runs from January 1st to September 1st, 2021.

We thought about that, and made some tryouts.
But as the PSG tune is on all 3 channels, adding the sound effect somehow disrupted the melody.
So we decided to leave it out.

Nice! So no bonus points for collecting bras? (tfh must have tried as well I reckon? )

Feature or a bug: when moving sideways to a window, and it closes (both hands on that window), it won't make you fall.

Unfortunately, no, the bras make you fall ... and the panties as well

The panties and bras came out when I passed and I lost all my lives one by one without being able to do anything.

It can happen. The clothesline is triggered randomly.
When you die, all enemies are reset, but the clothesline can be triggered again.
Your only solution is to move up very quickly, avoiding a potential new contact with the clothes.
Or avoiding climbing too close to the clothesline start (which is the best solution IMHO).

Yes, it's indeed a bug.
Sorry for that.

But since the contest is closed, I cannot submit a new release.
Anyway, we are working on a new, bigger and improved version of the game.
That bug will be corrected with that new version.

I'm not able to launch the game in blue MSX. Any advice?
In openMSX runs fine and the game has really a lot of fun!

@tono4 In the dialogue box where you choose the cartridge ROM file, there's the ROM mapper pull-down box at the bottom. Choose "ASCII 8" from that list instead of "ASCII 16".

Yes, and I have no idea why BlueMSX does not recognize the ASCII8 mapper (as OpenMSX does). Maybe it's related to the fact that the megarom size is unusual (64Kb), although it does comply to the mapper standard.

Anyway, once you choose ASCII8 in the list, BlueMSX will always remember it after that.

I have reached 5th building. The game is highly addictive!
I would suggest (for a further improvement) more building variety. That would encourage player to want to see next one.
