Booting from Emu-FDC while MegaFlashROM SCC+ connected

Hello, and sorry to bother you all with this again :-)

I'm trying to boot from Emu-FDC in order to upgrade the Nextor kernel in my MFR.

I have the required disk image in the Emu-FDC and it boots fine as long as I don't have MFR in the other slot. I've tried to hold "R" while booting with MFR in slot 1 and Emu-FDC in slot 2 (Panasonic FS-A1FX), but that just results in an empty blue screen.

The Emu-FDC works fine with the MFR as drive C. But, how do I boot from it? Is this possible? (Or is there another way to do the kernel upgrade I haven't figured out? My physical A drive is not working and not even inside the machine.)

I believe it is no problem to load the new kernel from C: just put OPFXSD and your NEXTOR.ROM on the disk image and boot from the MFR.

You could also try with EmuFDC in slot 1 and MFR in slot 2 and keep F pressed during boot.

OK so I ran OPFXSD from C: and... I think something probably went wrong, because the progress bar didn't even start moving and then it booted into the red recovery screen. But, then I just hit Esc and I guess it could not boot from MFR, so it booted from the Emu-FDC disk. So, now I ran OPFXSD again, and it worked :-) Not sure if that was the official way to do it, but it sure worked :-D

Thanks for the help!

I BTW also tried the carts the other way around previously, but MFR complained about slot 2.
