Gotek is a good invention but nothing beats the feeling of real floppy disks!

I have for sale floppy disks in blue, black, and gray in numbers. But also other colors as well - ask if you looking for a certain color, I might have it! Floppies comes either with a brand (mostly Maxell) or "nonames".

All floppies are used and have the labels removed - ready for new labels! Some might have text written with a pen or pencil but most are clean. And all are formatted before shipping to verify correct function, choose between 360KB (single sided) or 720KB (double sided). Floppies marked with a single dot are formatted flawlessly. Floppies marked with two or three dots needed corresponding number of rewrites before having a flawless format. And the floppies that didn't have a flawless format ended up in the trash...

If you prefer to have your own dsk-images written to the floppies - no problem, just send them to me and the price is the same! (I assume you have the rights to all material)
If you want the floppies labeled - just send me a PDF in A4 format with the labels and I will print them on sticker paper (Laser printed that is for a lasting and waterproof print). An A4 holds up to eight labels in full size (including the write protection arrows on the back)

Prices:

  • 0.35 Euro/floppy for floppies with pen/pencil marks or slight glue residue (formatted and verified or with a .dsk image of your choosing)
  • 0.50 Euro/floppy for clean floppies (formatted and verified or with a .dsk image of your choosing)
  • 4.00 Euro for an A4 with labels (as many as you can fit on it, save 10mm on all sides for printer margins)
  • 1.50 Euro/label for having me cut and place the labels (as best as I can - I am not a labeling machine but the result will look good) I also have a corner cutter if you prefer rounded corners on the labels. This is a really time consuming work and quite tedious so I prefer you do it yourself Smile

If you want 10 floppies it will probably take a day or two to fix, if you want a 1000 it will take a little bit more...
Please contact me if you have any questions about floppies, and/or labels, and shipping costs! (contact info on profile page)

The SVI-738 Games collection looks so cool, do they have the MSX logo on the sleeve?

Sorry no MSX logo on the sleeve. Right now they have a picture of the 738 with a screen dump of the game selector menu for the actual disk (If you have good eyes you can actually read it Smile ) on the front.
On the top there is the disk number on blue background and the back has only the markings for write protect (or not)

But if you like I can add a MSX logo where you like it and then mail you the new layout on a PDF for easy printing?

Do the disks work ok on a none SVI73 machine? I might be interested in the collection, to donate to the Retro Computer Museum here in Leicester

Don’t know to be honest. They are single-sided (360kB) as the 738 only had a single sided drive like the NMS-8235. But I will check this when I get home tomorrow - result will be posted here Smile

Well then the easy solution is that I donate a SVI-738 as well Smile
It’s in perfect working order but a little yellow (a RetroBright will fix that). Mail me your shipping address if this is interesting Wink (if you like I can send you some photos of the machine before you descide ?)

The Museum has facilities to clean machines and even fix some if they are able to.
You can email some photos, but I am sure the RCM would love the machine. my email address is d_haslett(at)outlook(dot)com
