OK I guess I'll just buy that external 4MB mapper I was going to get anyway. By the way, does anyone have experience with Padial's Z380 cart? Is it worth getting?
Turbo r is faster with internal ram.
BTW Dos2 can handle 4MB per mapper, but you can use more than one mapper if you want
Please don't say that. 4MB works just fine. I have it for years and you don't need a switch. The only problem I had was unkown reality, but that was easily fixed. You probably never owned 4MB SaebaMSX and probably never even seen software fail on this.
Do you have it internally installed? Marcel, I had this in my OCM and I saw some software to fail. Of course, UR was one of them. I don't remember other software right now, but I am sure it happened more than just once.
I have an unmodified GT and an upgraded ST (512KB). I wouldn't mind to have 1Mb but I don't really need it. Of course, external 4Mb is good to have.
Are you sure it's caused by the amount of memory, not because there's external memory?
In some cases, in pages 0-1 a different memory mapper is selected than the one selected in pages 2-3, which can be problematic if a program assumes the same mapper is selected in all pages.
Maybe it's time we make a list of things that doen't seem to work with 4MB. I have 4MB since 1994 or something. Only one problem found and sometimes it can indeed be other things like power problems.
Marcel, maybe you are the only one who can test it right now?
..and msd thinks: "ooooh crap, me and my big mouth! :-|"
Well give me some titles too test.I can't think of any besides UR that fail.
Well, ofcourse it needs to be a thorough test so we need all MSX titles tested. You can start with 'a' from the generation-msx database and work your way down to 'z'

Sorry I only have 1MB internal in my TR-ST, so I can't volunteer for this test
