Just a small reminder in case the newspost scrolls away from the frontpage after some days: this poll is not for coders who already understand assembly. HannibalRunning Naked in a Field of Flowers

Why not add an option "I already know Z80 assembly"?

It's meant for non-assembly coders. We're polling the interest to learn assembly, not the amount of assembly coders we already have.

Nahhh... I considered it, but it takes too much time, and time unfortunately is something I don't have very much Sad. When I was younger and still a very active MSX user, I always thought that assembly would be too difficult for me. I don't think that would be a problem now anymore. Apart from that, programming is not the only thing you need to make something cool; you'll also need graphics and music and - what's most important - an audience.

I would like to improve my Z80 assemby skills.
BUT, I think we should not underestimate the alternatives like C. They are powerfull too.

With the main code in C and the use of assembly modules (decompression, music/sfx replayer, vpd i/o) you can more easily (read: easier to keep overview) create good programs. Especially games..... IIRC Nerlaska is C + assembly too.
