BifiMSX and I have been working on a graphic designer for the MSX2. I used to have a tool like this in the past which was very handy to make MSX graphics. The program is called GraCo.

Download it here: http://vampier.net/MSX/GraphicCoder.rom

Here is a screenshot of the final product:

Constructive feedback is appreciated! :)

here are some things you can try. have a look:
msxsite.ryan-da-bass-man.com/spriteseditor.gif

Things which I found very handy and therefore added it:

- Edit multiple sprites at once to create larger (BOSS for ex.) sprites.
- Multiple palettes
- Add a staging/animation scene (very usefull dont have to this in code any more)
- See-thru mode (very usefull to do accurate animations)
- image to sprite conversion
- FlipXY/Rotate/Shift
- multiple edit slots (I used 10 see rightside picture) very handy to do animation while editing.

Well, yes, what could I say! Looks like the editor from RyJuZo is finished!

hmm.. a PC tool hijacking a topic about an MSX tool.. naughty!

Anyway, you did some nice work on the tool Vampier!

With < and > you can move up and down through the colours for the current pixel; however, the > will wrap around to the top, but the < won't wrap around to the bottom. Is that something you did or purpose?
The mirroring and rotating work nicely too.
Shifting a line, column or entire slot to the left/right top/bottom (with wrapping) might be nice too.

Support for loading/saving palettes could be nice too.

And please bring those quick on-screen help texts back ;-)

RyJuZo is anxious to release his tools to the community. He just don't know how yet.
Like a serial killer who wants to be captured.

so have to think long and hard...

@fixato: nobody is hijacking anything...they wanted some feedback...I gave 'm all I had to offer...

does not MATTER which platform my tool is for or whatever !!

No offense, but "yeah well, here's another tool" is, in my opinion, not really feedback since it doesn't say *anything* about the subject of the feedback.

Having said that, both graphics tools look quite nice & useful, though aimed at a different goal. RyJuZo's thingy is a sprite editor, whereas Vampier's editor looks like a screen5 16x16 cell editor.

You didn't give feedback to the tool RyJuZo imho.. Mentioning "FlipXY/Rotate" kinda shows that you didn't even have a proper look at Vampier's tool since those features are already in GraCo..

finally.. I'd appreciate it if you would capitalise my nickname appropriately next time..

- For the next version shift will be included.
- Palette saving will be included
- I'll also make a stage editor with real time change views (different program)
