It says that the compensation for quitting ASCII was ZERO and Nishi got the MSX brand instead of money (ASCII were in debt at the time), not that he DID zero. The MSX wasn't very hot anymore so it makes sense that he quit doing something that weren't profitable.

In that other interview he said he had to quit university when he was young to start up his company and was unable to finish his education. In Japan getting back into university again as an adult is kinda a big deal, but he eventually managed to do it and finished his PhD when he was 60 and researched IoT and computers (in Todai, Japan's best university) so that he could finally revive the MSX brand. So I don't think it's fair to say he has been doing zero in all this time.

In one of the posts he says he will release electronic versions of the MSX magazines he owns the rights for, for free on Amazon.

To be realistic. Think twice and business wise...
- Is the 'new' MSX able to compete to Playstation or Xbox
- Using an 'old' VDP instead of state of art Nvidia GPU
- Metal Gear 1 or 2 VS Call of Duty or Death Stranding.
- targeting old MSX user base or gamers of 2023.
- Streaming games (possible, availability)
- Initial developers with content for platform.
- Ideal as video-title, what added value it brings..Oh Jah, Sony video-titler of 1996 does the same (15 eur)
- Why for God's sake would you run a 'supercomputer' , with 100 cores, with V999x. VDP is too slow.
- AI and V999x?

I can find numerous points why you could better invest in a computer of today, than buy sentiment that is absolutely not real and outdated.

You can judge my opinion, it is a fact...

If you really like to use your money for good purpose... Donate to OpenMSX the amount Nishi is asking for the new MSX.

Actually I've been following some Japanese accounts on Twitter for a while (using the translate function) and you already see some people making fun stuff for msx0 (e.g. https://www.youtube.com/@chikuwa_empire)
(his youtube channel has github and twitter links)

Makes me want to have one too. :)

On Twitter, user HRA also did some cool stuff with the MSX0 gyroscope.

Personally, the only thing I really reproach the MSX0 is not having a screen to display the 512 px modes of the MSX2 in a native way. I find this a bit of a problem. Especially since we have emulators on smartphones that don't have this problem.

Otherwise, I like the portable side of the MSX0 and above all its support of external sensors which offer a lot of possibilities for experimentation.

If the cartridge that supports these sensors comes out on the real MSX, I will probably buy it.

I want to support all this new MSX hardware but not this strange object MSX0.
Rather the MSX3 which will be a real complete offer with keyboard, a bit like MSX2+ and I hope HDMI, cartridge port etc.

The crowdfunding of the MSX 0 was a success. I did not understand the problem of bankruptcy mentioned by Mr. Nishi. Nevertheless the MSX0 will be delivered and it is an event!
I don't know if MSX0 Pro will follow this fall (HDMI).
The most important thing is that the MSX3 project follows its course. It will be a real sequel, totally compatible with the old MSX (I hope with cartridge port and peripheral accessories) and TV connection or HDMI monitor. Maybe an MSX2+/Turbo-R style look.
We'll have to wait until next year but it's exciting.

I noticed some have already bought the MSX0 (As I noticed on twitter).
Searching Amazon, com and jp, I could not find any real MSX0, only safety screens, etc, but not the real hardware.
What is going on? How is it possible to obtain M5stack MSX?

They're early crowdfunding backer versions.
It's not available yet. The campaign was successful so first there will be new versions for other backers.

Hopefully it will become available internationally at some point.

There is no article on the wiki about Nishi's MSX0 and MSX3?
I could't found information on the wiki.
