I see it on pictures on Facebook and I know it from a lot of you... The regular you has more than one MSX... This includes me...
I have a Philips 8250 with a second diskdrive, a philips 8250 with a second diskdrive, 512kB, MSX2+ and some other things, two Panasonic WXes with 256kB of which one doesn't have a diskdrive, A Sony HBF1XDJ with 256kB and a euro PSU, an OCM and a turbo R ST with 512kB and a euro PSU.
The rest of the hardware is some cartridges of which most are double...

Why so many?
The first reason is that I sold almost everything (except my rare (back then) cartridges) once in the late 90s which will never happen again... I know how hard it is to get your stuff back... So once it's in my house it stays in my house... Even when I get a better MSX, the "worse" won't be sold.
The second reason is that stuff can break... It's robust, but old hardware... Not everything is replacable and I don't like the thought of not being able to switch on a real machine...

What's your story?

PX7, CF-2700, FS-A1F, FS-A1WX, FS-A1ST, HB-F700P, NMS 8255, NMS 8280, CX5MII/128 * 2... so thats 10. Plus a few FPGA ones... I think it's JUST an addiction.

Only one atm, a NMS 8250 with MFRSCC and fmpaq.. Eagerly waiting for a Zemmix neo now tho Smile

16 or 17 years ago I had a few Spectravideos, mainly 728s and peripherals.. Until one unlucky day when my father buried them using the tractor. (And alot of other machines, commodores, spectrums). Dont ask.

I have a Sony HB-75P, a Yamaha CX5MII, a Philips NMS 8245, a Panasonic FS-A1GT and a Zemmix Neo (that anodised metal is just so sexy!). I used to have an OCM, Philips VG 8235, Philips NMS 8250 and a Sanyo PHC-70FD as well but I sold those. Although I am thinking maybe I should get an MSX2+ again because that’s missing from the line-up right now Smile.

The CX5MII, turboR and Zemmix Neo are connected, the other two in my storage room.

Yeah, addiction/collecting it is, but who really counts them? Correct answer tends to be "not quite enough".

I had 8 (All of them Brazilian machines, some modified as a MSX2/MSX2+) but I gave away / sold almost all of them. Now I have just a Sony F1 XV, a Expert plus and a Expert 1.0 (both Brazilian MSX1 machines).

All three machines I own have a history: The Expert 1.0 is my first computer, back in the 80s. It is broken now, and I need to fix it. The Expert Plus was bought in a very good condition, and it is the only one I bought after the year 2000. And the Sony F1 XV was a gift from a brazilian MSX user who died without being able to use it. So all 3 are special to me, and I plan to keep them here.

I have two main machines: a Panasonic FS-A1GT that I use most of the time and a Sony HB-F1XDmk2. I switch to the Sony whenever I need to use the cassette (yes, I still use it sometimes), or whenever I just feel like it, because I prefer Sony's design to Panasonic's.

I also have a couple other machines that I'm using for learning a bit of electronics: a Panasonic FS-A1 and a Panasonic FS-A1F. I bought these really cheap on Yahoo! Auctions and I'm not too concerned about frying them if I make a mistake.

The full list of MSX machines I've owned is on my blog.

Have a 1chipMSX which was/is too expensive for my taste, but currently the best MSX for me. So despite its re-sale value unlikely to go anytime soon.
Then a Sanyo Wavy FD2 which is totally shot from heavy use (+modding!) back in the day. Especially keyboard and drives. I'd let it go, would rather patch it up, but unsure if/how ever to do that.
A few MSX2 machines (HB-F9P and HB-F1 mk.II). At least one (probably both) will stay here for sure. Should still work fine but it's been a while since last power up. Intend to mod them into MSX2+ (and extra RAM) some day.
A bunch of different MSX1 machines. Decided to keep at least 1 of those (Sony HB-75P?) but still haven't made up my mind what's the best use for the others. Sell as-is, do some fixes/repairs then sell, strip for parts, save as sources for spare parts, use as a base for some modding project, .... Question

Philips: VG-8000, VG-8010, VG-8020, VG-8230, NMS-8220, NMS-8245, NMS-8250, NMS-8280 (I seem to be missing the VG-8235 Crying )
Panasonic: A1-ST turboR, A1-GT turboR
Sanyo: Wavy 23

Why? I'm a collector.
