I have the game MR. Ghost and I am looking for an MSX 2 that has enough RAM to play it. I need a recommendation on which one to get and what accessories I will need to get it up and running and play the game. Thank You very much for your advice.

The box gives the specification... 128kB VRAM. So it runs on any MSX2 with 128kB VRAM.

Thank You! should I go with Panasonic or Sony? Also, What monitor will and connection? Mr. Ghost is Japanese. So, I assume the system must also be from japan. Correct? I am a newbie.

No, it runs on any MSX2 with that spec or any MSX2+ or turboR. I heard that Sony machines have a higher chance of bad capacitors.
Edit: you don't need a disk drive if you have the original ROM game.

I recommend a CRT monitor with analog RGB input for the best experience.

Thanks! I do have the original ROM, so that makes things a little less complicated

Ha! Well done and congratulations! A couple of weeks ago you were looking for the CIB IIRC. Did you have to sell a kidney? Wink

If you live in the US or Japan it would be best to get a Japanese MSX2 I guess.

A nice overview of MSX2/2+ computers can be found here or here.

Like Manuel said, you'll need 128 kB of VRAM. You can also have a look at some of the FPGA-options available, which connect nicely to modern screens.

I don't know why you have to trade a kidney for that game. Haha! This helps a lot; much thanks!

I would not go for the F1XD. The seller already says "no floppy drive", so assume it to not be working. For the price difference between the F1XD and the FS-A1 you can buy yourself a flash memory expansion cartridge.

The F1XV is a different case, it is a MSX2+ so it has some additional appeal. It also has MSX-Music which is a nice to have. Still a Panasonic MSX2+ would be better as the F1XV and the F1XD both suffer from suicide tendencies...
