I hope someone can help me with this...

I'm playing the fan translation of Shalom on a real MSX by using the MegaFlashRom SCC+ and it doesn't want me to save my progress using the in-game commands. There are four options for saving...

PASSWORD - This would be a last resort
TAPE - Actually, THIS would be the last resort
DISK - Doesn't work. I assume because the MegaFlashRom prevents access to the real disk drive?
SRAM - I have the Game Master II cartridge for this, but when that's plugged in it doesn't recognise the MegaFLashRom as an actual Konami game. I guess because the MegaFlashRom is loading games up through DOS?

I'm a bit of a noob when it comes to hardware but wonderered if anyone had any tips. Is there a way to utilise the MegaFlashRom to save to disk or a simulated blank disk on the SD card? Is there a way to simulate SRAM?

Or am I stuck with passwords?

I think if you run the game with SofaRun, you can select an option to emulate Game Master II. Did you try that already?

If you want to use a real Game Master 2 cartridge try this:
- Flash the game using /U /F1 options. E.g.: OPFXSD SHALOM.ROM /U /F1
- Power off the computer
- Insert MFR SCC+ SD in slot 1 and Game Master 2 in slot 2
- Power on the computer and Game Master should boot and will find Shalom in the MFR SCC+ SD

How would I do this step?

Select the path where SHALOM.ROM is located.
If you are using MultiMente, press Q to exit.
If you are using SofaRun, press ESC and then select "Quit SofaRun".

Then type from command line: OPFXSD SHALOM.ROM /U /F1

It's easier to select the Rom and then press R, is not? By this way, you just have to enter the command name and the parameters.

Thank you! That worked a treat. You're a life saver.
