I just found out that the Denyonet interface was shown at the fair in Nijmegen. But where can I find more information... technical and ordering?

Questions... questions...

- What kind of controller chip is used?
- What is the speed of transmitting and receiving (please specify the protocol used)?
- How and when can I obtain it?
- Will it be usable with SymBos?
- What will it cost?

Well that's enough for now Tongue

- What kind of controller chip is used?
Wiznet W5100
- What is the speed of transmitting and receiving (please specify the protocol used)?
TCP/IP. Probably round ide/scsi speed.
- How and when can I obtain it?
Question for sunrise
- Will it be usable with SymBos?
If someone makes a driver for symbos.. yes Tongue
- What will it cost?

about chip used and protocol :
this chip is more than MAC (media access controller) for physical layer it has also tcp/ip in it ,
but it can be used in "RAW" mode as well like a MAC only chip, like the one in obsonet card.

In Raw mode it can be programmed so it is compatible with BIOS routines defined for instance
for already existing card like obsonet. This is the UNAPI ETHERNET as described by konamiman.
This bios allows then to run programs formerly developped for obsonet on this card , without
any modifications : this is the gain of having unified application protocol interface.
Konamiman is preparing a new UNAPI specification for the TCP/IP layer, in this case it will possible
to write programs that works on every ethernet card and also to take advantage of the TCP/IP
mode when it is available like one on the W5100.

To the price I can tell zero, since it depends on something that becomes clear in a few weeks from now
As regards symbos yeah my idea, but that depends a little on podatron or maybe trebmint for help, since also support for moonsound was promised and is still quite in te the symbos-corner

It's almost to good to be true! Even with the overhead of the tcp-ip protocol such speeds Smile

The overhead of the protocol is done by the wiznet chip.
