I know it's not exactly MSX, but this community probably knows more about it than any other, so I figured I'd ask here.
Today I opened up an SVI 328 (not working) and I found this:
I'm kind of blown away by it. The truly amazing part is that the screws all have that red paint on them completely intact. So either someone added it afterwards, or it came like this from the factory.
So on to the questions:
- On the right of the main board, there are two cables sticking out not connected to anything. From what I can see, there's supposed to be a crystal oscillator there. What gives? Is it supposed to be connected to one of the two crystal oscillators on the video board, or should I just put the correct one in there instead of the cable?
- What is up with the voltage regulators?? They're loose, running around and potentially shorting everything. They also seem to have a small board attached to them with a couple of capacitors, but the ones I see on other pictures on the internet are soldered directly to the board and screwed on to the heat dissipator.
Thanks!
