Testing the board for over 4 hours already with several games. Very minor interference, almost invisible. For me this is acceptable quality of composite video. The s-video quality is nearly perfect and RGB seems to output proper picture as well.

Well, the composite has been much improved, I don't think it can be done any better. The 30pf trim capacitors resolved the interference problem by 95%. Also it's recommended to install the 74HCT04 chip instead of 74HC04 in the generator circuit.

The HD quality video (275mb) can be downloaded from here:

The new board revision is ready, but I am not sure when I am going to order the boards.

Nice! Do you plan to publish the schematics of this board?

Yes, we will put the schematics and Gerbers into our repository, but not before the 2nd batch is out.

The new revision boards have arrived - 20 pieces. Please contact me if you are interested in purchasing those. The price is 5 euro per board + shipment (4 or 7 euros depending on type of shipment).

The new boards work well, I just assembled 2 new ones for myself. If you have problems eliminating the moving artefacts on certain color transitions in the composite video (this depends on the quality of trimmer capacitors, quartz resonators and the 74HCT04 chip), I would recommend to install ceramic capacitors 15pF or 22pF on the other side of the board (C32 and C33) and to use trimmer capacitors 20pF or 30pF so that the fine tuning requires a larger angle of rotation of the trimmer with a screw driver. The best place to remove the artefacts with the help of trimmer capacitors is the screen in Metal Gear 1 game where there are 3 trucks and a guy that patrols the area. This screen is also shown in the demo when the game starts and no key is pressed.

The voltages on the output of the variable resistors must be as follows: CSYNC - 1.3v, all color signals (should be measures with 100% filling of the screen and border with red, green or blue) - from 1.6v to 2.0v depending on the desired saturation.

Some boards are still available for purchasing, but half is already gone. ;)

We have published the sources for this project. As before, it is allowed to make batches of those boards and sell them to cover the production costs. The commercial usage of the sources is not allowed without the approval from RBSC.

The last board is left. No more will be produced.

Still have one board left. Can include the cable socket (similar to the original), CXA1645 chip, DIN8, 74HC04 and some other components if needed. Please contact me if interested.
