New Spectravideo site

Source : MSX Mailing List

A brand new site is dedicated to the complete Spectravideo serie of computers :

- SVI-318 and SVI-328 (pre-MSX1)
- SVI-728 and SVI-738 (MSX1, but the SVI-738 has the MSX2 VDP)
- SVI-838 or X'Press 16 (hybrid PC/MSX2)

With exception for the SVI-838, all these machines are emulated by blueMSX.

Very nice page!

I didn't know that there was PC / MSX Hybrid! Very nice indeed. A shame that the PC part uses CGA and 8088... I guess it was marketed like: "Play Video-Game and do serious work on a single machine".

Indeed!, very good looking page!, it maybe lacks a photo gallery of the 328 like the 318 has. There's a little error too in the Graphic specs of the SV machines. IIRC there was only 3 video modes, 0 (40x24), 1 (256x192) and 2 (64x48). MSX screen 1 didn't exists, so no 32x24 mode! Wink

For the moment, no : Tomas Karlsson had some problems with the computer on which the site was hosted. It should come back in the future when Tomas will find the time (he's also part of the blueMSX team).

Great website indeed... I always thought of SVI being the macs of the MSX-era... They look so stylish ^_^

Hmm, I saw this site before some days ago, but I forgot to bookmark it. Thanks for the reminder, mars2000you!

If SV-BASIC does not support MSX SCREEN 1 that is no reason to say there is no such a screenmode. It is still available for applications other than BASIC.

You're right, it's only a strange SV-BASIC limitation, not a hardware one. So the hardware specs are correct! Tongue
