You can't, this feature has been disabled years ago.

Why? It is sometimes annoying to check, instead of getting email with topic link and page.
More user friendly.
We can check existence of email, we have spf and dkim/dmarc.
Wat is the problem to enable or implement?

As far as I know, there were some technical issues with the forums e-mail options. Also the "e-mail a user" function has been disabled. There are also other quircks in the current forum software (It can't decode URL's with #/% in it for example).
At the moment I don't think there are any web-developers among the active msx.org crew anymore.

It was not possible by just modifying htaccess and urlrewrite?
Can I check the code somewhere?

yes, webdev peeps are welcome. We're running for a MRC next, somewhat. Keep an eye on here for more later.
So, to get ahead: are there web specialists out here that would participate in setting up a new, modern tools, edition of this web-site? we're running out of breath soon with this old vessel (over 10 years old).

One of those last breath issues is e-mail indeed ..
