@gdx:

What about this cartridge ?

There is also a version released by Panasonic, but if you look carefully, ASCII is mentioned everywhere on this version....

I think Panasonic published it in Europe. I have a lot of these.

All European cartridges say: "Published by ASCII".

All European boxes say the same, + "Manufactured by ASCII".

The brand "Panasonic'' appears only in top (front+back) of the Panasonic box version.

Even the slice of the Panasonic version has the ASCII logo.

There is no ASCII Europe. So I guess Panasonic sold them in Europe.

It's complicated with ASCII because they made the packaging for several small companies. Tagoo says that Midnight Building was released by Way Limit and ASCII but there is no inscription referring to ASCII on the box, nor on the cartridge, nor on the manual. There is also no product number like on other ASCII cartridges.
I'm amazed that Panasonic marked this on the cartridges they sold.

This game can be put back in the ASCII list with a remark.

Another thing that bothers me: Generation MSX tends to put the company that has the copyrights as the developer when this is often not the case. I therefore propose to withdraw these remarks when it is not clear.

Difficult to know indeed if the developers were working at this company or if they were external contributors. I think this problem happens mainly for the games released in 1983 and 1984.

Color Midway and Color Pillbox are also games not released by ASCII but sold in Europe by Panasonic with "Published by ASCII co. of Japan" mentioned.

There is a difference between the publisher and the distributor (or seller).

I guess there was an agreement between both companies.

I think is better that the following table contains only the exclusive distributors because otherwise, it doesn't make sense to put only part of it between them.
https://www.msx.org/wiki/Category%3AKonami#Games_developed_b...

About Banland, the following things are indicated on the cover back.
製作・発売元/コナミ
販売元/パイオニア
Which means:
Manufacturer and editor: Konami
Distributor: Pioneer

So contrary to what generation-msx indicates, LaserDisc Corporation is not the distributor, and Konami is the developper.

There are several mistakes about developpers and distributor on generation-msx because it's long and sometimes complicated to find these info. The automatic translators translate badly the nuances.
