I remember reading that diary and checking almost daily whether a new entry was added Smile

AbrahmCas; are you talking about the booklet with the codes from the manual? That is part of the original protection.
If you are talking about some coordinates that are mentioned in the game for flavour texts; i don't think they have a specific meaning that you NEED to know to get through the game. Got to the last level just fine.

@parallax: Can you disclose how many units were sold for each game?
And did the protection in ARC bring higher sale numbers?

@Pentarou I honestly could not recall the details (and wouldn't post them on the forum if I could).

For your question about ARC: I have no way of establishing this with any certainty. We didn't do it afterwards because the cost and effort was so high, but this wasn't based on any reliable computation.

... note the context is important: Vectron was originally submitted for a games programming contest, but something weird was going on with the intended publisher so this never properly happened (from my perspective). ARC was the first thing sold in direct collaboration with people I knew -- Checkmark, who didn't have a ton of experience in selling stuff in this fashion. At that point, we had no idea how many we would really sell. Things became a bit clearer afterwards, but it was still hard to project forwards. I was 15 when I made ARC, and this was all going a bit faster than expected. I surely wasn't thinking further ahead than the next project at this time. I certainly wouldn't have believed you if you'd have told me I'd be still talking about this thirty years later ... Big smile but it is fantastic to see all the nice reactions, much appreciated!

I found VECTRON in this collection.
"Vectron, MSX2, Disk2, Cas Cremers, 1st price"

Is this the contest you are talking about? :)

Yes, indeed. Thanks for the pictures! This was related to the MSX Computer Magazine programming contest, and the winner would be published as part of this collection. This did happen for Vectron, as you can see, but I never heard from the publisher again -- maybe others recall what happened there.
