¿Have you tried to create under BlueMSX a MSX machine with same specs of the 1chipMSX and try to do also a DSK of for example 512 MB to work and run with the emulated machine in the same way you work with your 1chip? Big smile

I have just installed BlueMSX on my ASUS EEE and I want to work with it like with my real machine Smile

How is the BlueMSX performance on the EEEpc? I'd like to know if someone tried the OpenMSX on the Linux EEEpc and how does it perform.

We ran openMSX on a 700-series eee PC on the Bussum MSX fair. But I forgot how well it ran... I think it ran fine, though. Maybe Yady can respond, as it was her eee PC Smile

It does, it works fine, as far as I've tested it. Some issues with screen size (since the width/height ratio is not the same as openMSX expects, the fullscreen view looked a bit stretched. But that was the only problem I had.

BlueMSX works very well on the Asus EEE 701. Anyway, any idea or config file? Wink

Config file? For what? Oh, for 1chipMSX... Smile You can't emulate everything as if it's a 1chipMSX...

Yeah you should be able to configure blueMSX like the 1chipMSX. I received a configuration for it a while back, but I just checked and its not on the website. I'm not sure what the 1chipMSX does for disks, but in blueMSX you have a couple of options to run 512 MB disks. Best is probably using Sunrise IDE, but blueMSX also supports SCSI disks. I'm not sure if any of these are compatible with 1chipMSX disk formats though, but as far as what you see as an end user its probably the same if you use MSXDOS or MSXDOS2.

Well, actually it's a MSX 2 with 2 MB RAM, FM PAC, PSG, SCC, MEGA SCSI 512 MB (The size of my SD card) HD and MSX DOS 2 (working with FAT16) Big smile

Also, is there any app to create 512 MB size DSKs and copy info into them?

I have some SCSI tools for the MSX at home. I'll try to find them tonight (they are probably available online somewhere too). I use IDE for hard disks, and its been a while since i tried the SCSI, but I'll see if I can get it up and running. In the emulator, you'll pick the SCSI special cartridge (I think that machine config I got had it all set up), and then you'll insert the dsk image in the HDD menu, format the disk using the SCSI tools, and then copy DOS or something to it and its ready to go.

I had some more detailed descriptions at some point that I can try to find.

I suppose you could use the same MSX DOS 2 in blueMSX as well (I believe the config I got had that all set up, but I'm not sure).

Ah, if it's just about that hardware, it shouldn't be too hard to make a config file for that indeed. Maybe I'll also make one for openMSX then.

Note that creating a DSK file can be done in openMSX with the diskmanipulator command (see its manual). However, I haven't tested if they're compatible with the SCSI interface.
