I also thought of getting a 3650, because of the external storage, but I kinda didn't like its design..
Maybe next time my phone will get a MMC
Yoú'll regret that very much. As soon as you're into installing utilities (which you are ), you'll go and cry: 'Why does this phone only have 4mbyte memory!!!!!!!'
The 3650 design is kinda different, I agree. But the MMC REALLY compensates that.
Aaaaah whatever, don't say I didn't warn ya
Sorry for the lack of documentation, I havent spent any time on doing it No prob, you've already done a great job in porting fmsx

Aaaaah whatever, don't say I didn't warn ya Well, to be honest, the other reason why I got the 7650, is because of the price.
I wondered that the 3650 was that more expensive (for a poor student )
But thanks anyway for your suggestion. I really appreciate that
i need the fotsteps for convert a .rom to a .Sis , i download a program in your site but when i try to convert .rom for .sys , the program generate only a .gz file , and this file not runing in your emulator , im using a 0.92 version.
Im having the same problem as jfestrelabr, where the program is only going as far as to turn the rom into a .gz file and want complete what its doing so it will end up as a .sis file, is there something im not doing or is there a problem with the program. It must be me there seems to be other people playing games no problem, what do i need to do.
I couldn't agree even more with Latok. The external memory expansion of 3650 make it much better than the 7650. It is true that the external look, the keyboard and the joystick of 7650 are better than the 3650 ones, but only 4 MB is not enough to install every applications that you need at your phone (and save your photos, videos, MP3s, MIDs...); and you need to use programs like Stacker, that compress the memory but have compatibility issues with some programs...
About the post of the people having problems with creating the SIS, please read the howto that comes with the file. I just followed the steps and got the SIS file created correcty. But be warned, the PC tool to create the SIS file is prepared for the 0.91 version of emulator, not 0.92. You will have to modify the PKG file to match the 0.92 version (it is as easy as change the 0.91 for 0.92 at the beginning and the end of the file).
Hope that this help ^^
If you are unable to generate the SIS file from your ROM/DSK images, I guess that you haven't had a look at what's inside the PKG file. It's a text file so you can use for example Windows Notepad to edit it.
I updated the PKG file for 0.92 to have the right version number (the 0.92 tools ZIP is different than 0.91 tools ZIP).
Anyway, when you look at the contents, you will see that a lot of stuff is being included in the SIS. If you do not have all the listed ROMs and DSKs (or if you do not want to include them in the SIS) you need to edit the PKG file because if some of the listed files are missing the SIS file will not be created. You can use the comment char (semicolon) to take out the lines that refer to files that you do not want to put in the SIS file.
I will add a step for this in the .howto file.

Okay, I just did that, here is the new .howto file so you don't have to download the ZIP again. I hope this is more helpful than the previous one:
How to create an install packet (.sis) for the MSX system ROMS & games:
=======================================================================
1. Copy the system ROM files you need to this directory:
- msx.rom (for MSX1 emulation)
- msx2.rom and msx2ext.rom (for MSX2 emulation)
- msx2p.rom and msx2pext.rom (for MSX2+ emulation)
- disk.rom (for disk support)
- msxdos22.rom (for MSXDOS2 support)
2. Copy the game ROM and disk image files you want to install to this directory:
- e.g. "Penguin Adventure.rom" and "Elite.dsk"
3. Modify fmsx_roms.pkg file with a text editor (e.g. Windows Notepad) to include
only the ROM and DSK files you want to include in the .sis packet. You can use
the comment character (semicolon) to take out unnecessary lines and/or insert
new lines for additional files.
4. Run fmsx_roms.bat
- all ROM files are first compressed with gzip
- fmsx_roms.sis file is created
5. Transfer the generated .sis file to your device (e.g. via infra-red)
and install it. You must have installed fMSX/S60 prior to this step.

ive edited the pkg file in word to show only the game I want and all I seem to get when I run fmsx_rom.bat error in part 12. Im probably work it out eventually if i mess about enough but i still dont know what you mean when you say copy system rom files to this directory, what exactly are you suppose to copy. Look i dont want to be awkward but with any other emulator i have used on my phone you just get a rom stick it on the phone and use the emulator to play the rom, surely that would be easier than having to do all these conversions with pc programs.
To run an emulator you don't only need a ROM or DSK file of the game you want to play, you'll need the System ROM files of the machine you want to emulate as well.
Since it is illegal to distribute the MSX System ROM files they are not included in most MSX emulators.
1. Copy the system ROM files you need to this directory:
- msx.rom (for MSX1 emulation)
- msx2.rom and msx2ext.rom (for MSX2 emulation)
- msx2p.rom and msx2pext.rom (for MSX2+ emulation)
- disk.rom (for disk support)
- msxdos22.rom (for MSXDOS2 support)These are the files need. You can not find them on MSX Resource Center, and you're not allowed to ask for them here either. If you have a real MSX computer you can extract the system ROM files from that machine using the proper tools. If you don't, you're not allowed to run the MSX emulator. Doing it anyway is your own responsibility.
I have an MSX and I have the games, I have the roms of the games I own on my computer and the msx emulator is on the phone, its just a matter of placing my roms on the phone in a way the emulator recognizes. The thing about extracting the system rom files from my machine is something I wouldnt have a clue how to do, I mean Im having enough problems getting this right and im sure its probably simple.
I ve got the emulator to recognize roms but in the section where you choose the machine type I cant change it from none is there a simple solution.
