Gents,

I was digging some old MSX files and I found a nice disk copier written in Basic by Trevor Mc.Gregor (www.rochasoftware.com).
At the early Brazilian MSX-Years, before Megaram and MSX2 kits, we only had disk/tape versions of 32k games and a nice disk converted version of Nemesis 1 converted to load from the disk during the game.
Anyway, I remember that this Nemesis 1 disk could not be copied by some regular sector copy applications, like "Copy GTS"

Anyone knows what kind of protection they used to use at the 80s?

Rgds,
Muffie

I remember a disk based crack of dragon slayer iv that could not be copied in any way through msx.
The only way to copy them was with an amiga 500 and some copy programs amiga had, that's how i managed to make perfect backups of all those strange copy locked games.

Darn, copying stuff... That's long ago...

I remember copying with a tool that required two physical diskdrive to make the basic copy... That program logged the bad sectors which didn't get copied... Then afterwards another program which just worked with one diskdrive was used to copy those particular sectors...
One of those programs was called allcopy, the other one i forgot...
It almost always worked... The ones that didn't work got a C9 poked ahead of the protection routine using a sector monitor Running Naked in a Field of Flowers

Where can I find the "license agreement", covering rules for the "moderator alert" option, that I agreed when I joined MRC?

It's just NOT RIGHT to moderate everything. I was just defending my sexual orientation. I also felt offended when Slutman said that he loved me.
