I hereby will officially withdraw my MSXDev entry and I also announce that this will be the last MSX game I have made. If one thing has been made clear in the last few days is how a part of the MSX scenes thinks about game devs. I'll just leave this short.

Here is the rom and the source code: www.vampier.net/PWND2.zip

Well, there will always be douche bags. The jerks are so many that eventually they become governors, presidents, dictators, etc and instead of trolling a community, they troll an entire nation or the world.

You can quit for a temporary relief, but soon or later they will appear in your life again.

Farewell vampier.

Vampierchan - it's only a small minority that thinks this way. Fortunately, the majority does not agree. Even the fact that this minority doesn't seem to see the point in why it can be devastating to a developer's motivation should not be demotivating you. The fact that everyone who has tried to doesn't seem to be able to make these retards understand why it's not cool what they're doing, should only strengthen you in knowing that these people should be of no influence to what you're doing.

You're wiser than them. Really. And so am I. And if I find myself ending up in a discussion why someone is a moron when supporting or facilitating warezing of scene productions, I hope you'll be there to remind me as well.

That leaves alone the fact that I really appreciate you offering your game to our downloads database. Kudos to you!

That's a shame Vampier. You're one of the person's who actually put his money where his mouth is by actually making entries for MSXDev. Too bad you're not going to in the future...

Another eloquent sample of how the community treat some developers. I feel so sad for Vampier´s decission and I want to wish him the best of lucks . And the sudden silence from the "fervorous worshippers of emulation" about this sad news speaks itself.

Too much hypocrisi here, classism and elitism. And that is a luxury we can´t afford in a passion who became nowadays into an artistic expression. MSX as it maximum expression it´s just fun and entertainment, passion and dedication. Beyond that, nonsenses!

Nothing left to say. I´m gonna play on my Wavy some carts. It feels great to do this, even when so many years have past... And it´s still exciting!

I am new here and I hear from different people about these things like elitism and whatever, but can someone explain what is going on?

I thought we are a bunch of fans of an ancient platform we like tinkering with in our spare time; how exactly does elitism and such fit in that context? It's not like people are curing cancer or actually programming / soldering anything more than a handful people *in the world* will like once done.

So how does this work? Isn't it just about doing fun stuff and making people smile about what you managed to put together? How can ego's play a part in that context?
