Well I love FM/MSX-Music bgm.

P.S. since this is a MSX-game, will FM music be compatible with panamusement FM-PAC?

Guys, adding SCC support while not having the chip itself in the ROM, meaning you have to add some kind of SCC with switch in a second slot (because you cannot put that in a 64K cart that is full) looks kind of shabby and cheap.
I mean: you will ofcourse get in-game music when you don't have any sound expansion, but it will sound a whole lot better if you have an MSX-Music expansion.
I cannot 100% guarantee at this point that FM will be supported, because the drivers are still under construction, but it is an idea.

And yes, giangiacomo.zaffini, it's the same thing. Smile

I see. Just out of curiosity, what is the % of emulator vs real cartridge players that you expect for this kind of games?
(In a couple of months, a better guesstimate could be made based on the number of sales vs downloads.)

I'm just as curious about that as you are, but I'm not an Economics Major. The only thing I do know, is that some people (such as myself) like to have a physical cartridge + package + manual of certain games, especially if it comes with a lot of extra's as opposed to the 'free' version.

Oh, I fully agree from a quality assurance perspective. In fact I did buy a fan game once and might be persuaded to do so again, if not for the hardly functional state of my NMS8220...

So basically this game is a better fit for the #msxdev Compo. You could've released the full version on cartridge immediately, and then also have the full version participate in the competition.

Just one version to create, and everybody gets to enjoy the same game eventually.

Most of the users will allready have SCC, either the original one or these FPGA based found in varius SCC SD/ROM / PLAYSONIQ...
So I don't see why it has to be fm over scc Wink. SCC just has the right sharp sound for such games Smile.
There should be greater amount of MSX1 users with SCC than FM-PAC. Almost none pure MSX1 games supported msx-music.
As this is added value to the cartridge and not a requirement to enjoy the game there should be no problem that the scc is not present in the game cartridge.

Maybe because I am the musician that's supposed to make all that stuff and I happen to like to work with FM more than I do with SCC. Tongue Running Naked in a Field of Flowers

Haha, I kid. Nothing is even certain yet, so all of this is merely speculation, and nothing more. Wink

FM is a MSX standard. SCC is a proprietary Konami add-on.
