Rare MSX 1 Games

Hi all.

Are there any RARE MSX 1 Games out there, that we can keep a Look out for and what are they???

As I have a RARE Australian Made Commodore 16 Game "The Search for King Solomons Mines" and also made up a Cover Artwork for another Commodore 16 Game "Feasibility Experiment", that was originally Sold in the wrong Cover by the Software Manufacturer.

Other rare games I can think of right now are Cosmic Shock Absorber, Storm, Nightshade, Ficture/Science Fiction, Pyromane and Sweet Acorn (the original, not the import).

I don't think you can call Comic bakery a rare game because somebody is trying to get rich of it on ebay If that's the case, you can call konami's synthesizer, both metal gears and snatchers rare aswell. And talking about sd-snatcher, I think it's more rare to find a sd-snatcher which has the label for the data disk included and it's even more rare to find a sd-snatcher with the data disk label NOT glued on a disk (especiallay not glued on a grey 3M disk).

I think green beret on disk is pretty rare aswell

Comic Bakery... That's interesting, why is that called are. I have 2 of them and they are deep in a cupboard because I thought that's so common (and I really don't like the game); one of them is from when I was young and started with MSX, the other came accidentally with collections I bought.

Is Science Fiction really that rare? I believe I have it (on tape, don't know if it was published on any other medium).

Some of the most expensive ones are usually not that rare (like Metal Gear 2). They just have high value amongst collectors.

The problem with disks and tapes is that they wear out sooner, obviously... cartridges are a better investment because they're much more easily preserved, and there's a much lower chance of them being replacements/fakes.

Isn't the MSX version of Turtles a very rare game?

Don't know about being ultra-rare, but I know that King's Valley 2 for MSX1 sold less than KV2 for MSX2, so is more difficult to find.

Still, only the MSX1 version got officially released in Europe (I guess it was pirated a lot though).

There are a LOT more rare games than Konami games. You still see games coming up that aren't on generation msx and there are quite a few with no screenshots or few additional details which are also good indicators that a game is rare.

Is the disk version of Elite rare? I've particularly never seen one.

2) Very hard to find games:

- Livingstone Supongo MSX2, by Opera Soft
- Gunjin Shogi, by Pack-In-Video
- Daiva V, by T&E Soft
- Any games by Alice Soft
- Any MSX game by Microprose
- Hydefos, by Hertz
- Any MSX LaserDisc game
- Any MSX VHD game

This is a preliminary list. There are many other rare games from very small companies of any country that MSX had a significant presence.
