I don't like it because I prefer software that uses the bits of a block to be indicated by remarks in the corresponding blocks in order to have it directly in front of you when you want to know what the block is for. It's best to avoid scattering the information as much as possible.

Btw, I see this about Block 1:

"The SCSI Gouda interface (Novaxis) uses some of these registers to store parameters such as host ID and target ID."

What Aioeneho has added about Novaxis concerns Block 2....

I'm confused!

From Dutch doc:
"nibble 8 heeft een speciale betekenis. Is het nibble ongelijk aan 00H , dan wordt er via I/O poort 7FH een "password gelezen" (16 bits) en wordt vergeleken met de inhoud van nibbles 9 t/m C. Zijn deze waarden niet gelijk, dan komt de computer in een eindeloze lus terecht en start hij niet op."

Translation:
"nibble 8 has a special meaning. If the nibble is not equal to 00H , then a password is "read" (16 bit) via I/O port 7FH and is compared with the content of nibbles 9 to C. If these values are not equal, the computer enters an endless loop and won't start."

It has been confirmed by zeilemaker54 analyzing the subrom:
"line 5189 onwards (storing keycard password in clockchip) and line 5482 onwards (handling stored keycard password in clockchip at system startup)"

About Block 1, I see a problem:

- One remark says " Bits marked as 0 are not just unused, they are unusable (no write possible)."
- What Aioneko has made proves the contrary, but he mentions "22 unused bits in Block 1" while I can see 26 bits marked as 0

Bits marked as 0 are unusable (RTC don't store any incoming data and always return 0).
In MSXgl, I use the 22 bits from alarm configuration that is cannot be used on MSX (I disactivate it for a peace of mind, but no application have any reason to set it ON).
