I'm looking for a complete copy of the original Golvellius for MSX1.

I grew up playing the SMS version, and the original has been at the top of my want list for quite a while now.

I have a complete European version, which means that I have version consisting of a cartridge in box with the European manual (and nothing else). Interested? Send me a PM!

European version? The cartridge and box are the Japanese version, right? I'm not aware of an official European version of the MSX game. If there is one then I'd definitely be interested in hearing more.

I actually just received a copy of the Japanese game, box, manual, map, and pendant from another member here. I would be interested in the sticker, and possibly the registration card and the other insert sheet, if those ever happened to come around at a good price.

Cartridge and box are the same as the Japanese version, but the box contains nothing more than the cartridge and a sheet (black on white) containing an English translation of part of the manual. The version you have obtained surely is more complete! Apparently they decided to leave out all those extras back in the days when Homesoft imported the game to Europe. Strange decision!

Interesting! I had no idea that the MSX version of this game was distributed internationally.

If it was actually translated then I would be interested, but if it's the same game then I don't need it.

Curious choice to distribute this game internationally without translation, because it does have a fair amount of dialog. I'm sure copies that were distributed in Europe were quite rare, but I wish there was more than a partial manual to distinguish them.

I truly appreciate the offer!

Well, coincidentally, there exists an English translation of the manual. I made it myself, back in the days, for WOOMB. I think I have found it somewhere on the net not too long ago. Of course the game itself was also translated to English. But this all was somewhere between 2005 and 2007.

I have found the English versions of the manuals. They are so cool. Thank you for doing that! The game has a lot of humor and character and it adds another dimension to see how that's carried over even to the descriptions of how to play the game. I get the impression that they must have had a lot of fun making these games.

Did you ever happen to translate the map? I'm curious who the guy is in the corner who appears to be murdering everyone in the office.

Nope, I never even knew there was a map included in the original Japanese version, so I have never seen it.
