By going through all the FD's and organizing them as part of a project I'm working on, I noticed there are 2 disks containing MBM files, but enlisted as 0 bytes unfortunately, this relates to Disk 27 and 31. Since they were all added to the database years ago, could anyone provide these disks with working MBM and MBK files? Since that's just what I use from those disks.

Hmm, indeed both disks seem broken. Future Disk 27 has only broken mbm files and Future disk 31 has some broken mbms.
Does anyone have working diskimages of them?
Can it be somekind of copy protection?

@Hydragon: I vaguely remember having some Original FD diskettes. I will look tonight and see which ones I have.
In the mean time, anyone?

I sent you an email in pvt. Hannibal

Thank you KDL, The diskmagazine does load properly, also the ones on MRC, but it seems to be unable to extract the MBM's with Disk manager, which will show them as 0 bytes files if you check the contents of the disk. It seems there's some kind of protection in place on those 2 disks. I wonder if it's possible to get these files extracted in their original sizes so they are playable.

I did copy them with open msx from the FD disk to an empty one, but most songs are still broken. So either the images that roam around aren't good images, it's somekind of copy protection, or the files where always broken even on the originals.
Btw I searched my collection, but unfortunately I don't have the Original FD disks.
The songs won't play correctly even when you play them from moonblaster.

Do they play correctly when you just run the disk image? If I understand Hydragon correctly, the music is playing normally when Erin the disk magazine.

when run the disk directly the songs are played, that's how we confirmed that it has something to do with a copy protection. That's why I'm wondering to get these MBM's avoiding the protection.

Ok, in this case I would assume the actual dumps are fine = the disk is like it was intended to be...
As very first step I would take a copy of the image and try if the files can be recovered with "CHKDSK /F"

I sent you a new email in pvt and confirm that the disks are protected.

Ah, ASCII art Cool

OT: Probably should be possible to extract the MBM files using a hex editor...

Did someone already try NYYRIKKI's suggestion?
