I'm kinda curious how you resolved this issue in the end. Smile

I tried to help him, but US is very strict against importing anything shaped like a gun so I could not manage to ship the light gun. All carriers refused.

That's odd. I was able to import mine through Buyee to the USA in April 2020. At first, I couldn't consolidate the item with others. I sent them a request and I received a message saying that after checking, they verified there was no issue shipping the item.

Perhaps something changed. I recall the item was marked as a computer game when it arrived.

Takamichi helped me, as he already said Big smile
But yeah, I was categorically refused about 5 times; apparently, there's a US law that prevents toy guns from being shipped, unless they bear special markings, so I'd say you got lucky, BitSquad.

Ultimately, I wish I hadn't combined it with anything to begin with - I guess now I know better.

Wow I am really surprised that that was the problem. In the US you can buy a real one at a supermarket, but a plastic one that not even shoots projectiles is a problem and doesn't look like any real one? Only in America...

*sigh* Don't get me started...

At least they fixed it so that I can't even buy it anymore

That is a real pity. Would be interested in it myself. And another intermediary wouldn't do the trick either?

The idea of circumventing via third country didn't work. Also I could not disassemble the gun into un-gun-shaped parts without destroying it; experts denied it too.

Hey, sorry I'm late getting here, but I came across this post when I was going through a similar situation and just wanted to let you know how I got around it for future reference.

I discovered a shipping company called forward2me.They're based out of the UK, but they have hubs in Japan and a couple other countries. I contacted their customer service before actually using their services in order to confirm they would be up to the task. Within about a week they said they would be able to ship my package to me. Unfortunately, at some point the customer service representative I'd been corresponding with had forgotten that I was shipping my package from Japan, not the UK, so they had to go back and check with their guys again, but within another week they confirmed they could ship the package to me from Japan.

Once I had the confirmation, I had Buyee ship my Zillion guns to Forward2Me's warehouse in Japan. The rest was pretty painless.
