Want to know what hardware is connected to or is hiding inside your (real/virtual/emulated) MSX?
MegaReport knows about the most common hardware and settings. Since the last v1.3 release in the 1993/94 timeframe a lot has happened in the MSX scene.
New hardware and software has appeared, FPGA and emulated versions have shown up. So now it's finally time for an update to MegaReport v1.3.
The old version has been thought some new tricks for you to try out:

- Audio: Detect OPL4 and amount of wavetable RAM
- Audio: Detect MSX-AUDIO MBIOS
- RTC: Detect most common (partial) initialization issues
- CPU: Detect Panasonic Turbo CPU and show mode
- Disk: Basic detection for Nextor diskroms.
- Added basic detection for OCM PLD FPGA implementations
- Fixed current memory display for systems with 4MB of RAM
- Fixed max memory of 65535 Kb display. It was printed in reverse

Note: MegaReport is only for MSX2 and up.

That is really cool you updated the Megareport. I always loved that part when loading a new Quasar or when someone else used it and how much was recognised. Great to see that all kinds of new hardware is recognised.

Congrats on the new set of specs you can recognise with it. Hopefully you will gradually add even more things you can recognize.

Nice. You preserved all your code?

no v9990 check?

Thanks. I recovered all my source code and now I have (had to) document the built process I used.

@msd there is a (basic) V9990 check. Was there already in the original v1.3 version.

I'm getting an "Error opening file" followed by "Wrong STX file...".
Do I have to have other files into the same dir, besides the .bin?

And I always wanted to know: How does MR differentiate between an original MSX2+ and a modded MSX2+?

I think if the country code is not Japan you already now is not an original msx 2+

It's only a single .bin file. I've seen this issue happen on rare occacions. Not sure what can trigger it yet. Can you tell me your system specs?(nextor version, disk type etc).
Can try you running it from the ramdisk (H: )?

A version for MSX-DOS and the MSX1 support would be very nice.

Msx1 support would be a complete rewrite I guess . A .COM version would be nice. Quicker to use then a .BIN files for most users

I love this software, it is the CPU-Z of MSX, although I never understood why big banner that only leaves half the screen usable. Anyway, I want to report several minor things I found on my machine, a Panasonic FS-A1GT:

  • It detects that I have a V9990 board, but it is not the case; at least I don't have it plugged when I ran the test ;)
  • It says SRAM not found, but, doesn't the MSX turboR features one? Maybe the logic only detects the PAC one.
  • MSX-IMPOSE: FOUND?

Thank you for updating this software!

Nextor 2.10 SD mapper.
You mean Call RAMDISK? If that it made no difference, same error.
