Hi all!
Today I received from Japan my first MSX, a Panasonic FS-A1WSX!I'm really excited to dive in the wonderful MSX world for the first time!I've been a Commodore user since I was 9 years old, first with VIC-20, then C64 and lastly Amiga 500 (but few years ago I bought also a Spectrum 48k+).As an MSX 'n00b' I need now some advice from you experts, cmon guys!

I only briefly powered this Panasonic FS-A1WSX and it boots up on my monitor hooked up via S-VIDEO connector so it's a good start anyway! Smile What I need now to play some games, perhaps a MegaFlashROM cartridge? The floppy disk drive should be not functional according to the seller but this is not an issue since I read that most of software is on cartridge, isn't it?
Again, really excited like a child !(and, instead, I'm nearly 50 years old ahahaha)
Thanks for any advice/help I will receive!

Welcome on board. Me too I become a child again when I practice on MSX.
First of all, try to find a belt for your drive. This drive may work with that and cleaning. The type of belt required is indicated in the site wiki.

Enjoy your MSX. I still do, almost, every day.

Thank you, guys, for welcoming me!
A quick question : is the audio output a single mono channel thru the rear RCA?I can hear the sound in the menu but it's not clear but kinda corrupted (perhaps I have to "recap" the motherboard...)

I think there's a bit of a continental divide on that — anecdotally, us Europeans tended to prefer disks (or tapes) whereas the Asian markets preferred cartridges.

Most Msx 2 games are on floppy, so you MUST do the repairs Smile

I'm not sure but it sould be this way. You may find more informations on MRC wiki page and Generation Msx.

Another quick question for a MSX n00b like me
How to run floppy disks?I hope you do not need to type 'LOAD' or 'LIST0 because 'L' (and 'K', too) key of keyboard is not working (I'm looking for a keyboard membrane replacement but it seems they are no longer available)

Most auto run, so you insert them and reset the MSX.
