Another thing that doesn't come easily with a raw-player, is the ability to fade. So, there we have another issue, how to handle that and at the same time keep the cycles down at 96 cycles pr data-pair-write Smile.

Yeah, that would require to cache the last written register values, and to always subtract an attenuation value from the volume registers (and update all when volume changes)…

Actually, Lilly's Saga has support for fade down Smile You can hear it when opening a chest.

p.s. I think I’ve said it before, but it’s looking and sounding real nice!

You said it before, thank you, but the dev-team has nothing against hearing it again haha Smile Smile

"Bling effects" like this, floating points, coin rotating, exploding bricks, parallax, and so on, are really important for the immersion so I just have to try to implement them when I can. I *should* have even more if I can.

One more of these: maybe you can add a simple animated block for the water? One or two blocks that you update every couple of frames should be enough.... makes it look a little less static and more dangerous.

The game will be out later next year, and there will be a physical copy for sure Smile

Thanks for the suggestion. Actually I have thought of that... and so far: ruled it out. There are several objects (pier, land, crates) sticking down into the water which makes this job a bit complicated (this is screen 4 and has color constraints pr 8 pixel-line) and with a "certain size", especially if you want it to be smooth (such animation should have 4 or more frames) and not noisy (adding "stress" to the general image). But, once again, I must admit: it might be possible - even within my 60 fps-constraints Smile

@Bengalack I am anxious with great anticipation. I think there should be two versions of physical copies, one is disk and the other is cartridge. The disk version is for people who want it physical still but cannot afford the cartridge so they go for the cheaper and less reliable medium (which is disk). They still can get the box, manual, and the sticker on the medium, but since it's a disk edition it will cost 8 euro instead of 30 for cartridge. For people who want a more reliable medium however, can afford the big cash and would go for the cartridge edition that cost more. As for people who don't care for the physical copy and want it cheapest as possible and right away, they can go for the digital edition which would go for 2.99 euro as an example.

Just a thought, what do you think? (-grin-, hoping to buy the disk edition hehehe)

I think I'm the reason it can't be a disk, as most of the ROM will be music and this needs fast access. Wink

lol, also, unless you guys are very motivated to do so, I would not recommend doing two physical editions. Doing a physical edition (box, packaging, labels, manual, etc.) is *a lot* of work, and you really don't want to have to do it twice Smile

Calm down and let the developers finish it properly. Good stuff takes time! It will be worth the wait, as I see it.
